Every year from February through October, the charming southern Oregon town of Ashland comes alive with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (www.osfashland.org).
Founded in 1935, the Festival features 11 plays, combining the works of Shakespeare with other classic and contemporary writers. Enjoy Shakespeare under the stars at the famous Allen Elizabethan Theatre or revel in The Tempest or the Marx Brothers’ The Cocoanuts in the indoor Angus Bowmer Theatre.
Step away from the stage to experience classes, lectures, workshops and backstage tours, as well as a variety of other events during your stay. Whether it’s experiencing a preface with a teaching artist or reading your own work on stage, there are plenty of activities available to keep you amused.
Southern Oregon has many charms. Experience the many delights Ashland has to offer by attending this year’s Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
