Vacation on the Water

What’s the logical alternative to an RV road trip? A water vacation. But you need a boat, right? True, but you needn’t go through the expense of owning and maintaining your own. Now you can rent.
Boat rental companies, such as Boatbound and Get My Boat, make it easy for you to embark on your own private boat vacation, for a single day or as long as you like. And they can come with or without a skipper, depending on the type of experience you’re looking for.

In many cases, there’s no need for prior experience or licensing. Check with the rental agency for specifics. The process is similar to VRBO (Vacation Rental by Owner). These boats are privately owned and the owner or agent will brief you on how to operate the boat safely, and how all the buttons, bells and whistles work. You just sign the rental agreement, pay, load your gear and you’re off, leaving a wake behind you.

In a boat you have the freedom to explore. The many inlets, coves and channels of Northwest waters are perfect places for discovery. Drop anchor in a place that inspires you and head out again the next day for more adventures.

Rentals come in all types, sizes and price ranges, so get a craft that you are comfortable operating and that will accommodate your party. For more information about renting a boat, check out Boatbound at or Get My Boat at
