Planted at the base of the Cascade Mountains, Sunriver Resort’s 3,300 acre estate hugs the bends of the Deschutes River. Sunriver Resort functions as both private resident and resort community, renting out lodge rooms and many of its 4,000 homes to visitors.
The resort holds plenty of activities for guests, including 26 tennis courts, two swimming pools, 35 miles of path for walkers or cyclers, and four golf courses.
Sunriver prides itself on its golf courses. The Crosswater course, for example, placed #17 in Golf Week’s America’s Best Residential Golf Courses, and #28 in Golf Digest’s America’s top 100 Greatest Golf Courses, saying “It is simply not possible to find a better manicured course anywhere in the world. Period.”
Just a 20 minute ride from Mt. Bachelor, the resort also offers several winter activities. Up until February, Sunriver Stables will provide Sleigh Rides on the Deschutes River and through the woods. The mountain itself offers opportunities for snow-sports such as sledding, tubing, skiing, and ice skating. As a special treat, Iditarod racer Rachel Scdoris can take you on a fantastical voyage through the Cascade with her team of dogs.
Daily shuttles are available to guests looking to enjoy Mt. Bachelor. More more information, visit: http://www.sunriver-resort.com/
