Springtime is just around the corner bringing with it plenty to see, do, discover, and enjoy, from farm-fresh food to outdoor recreation. Spring in Corvallis, Oregon, means colorful flowers, opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, farm stands and farmers markets full of fresh fruits and veggies, and more. Spring is wildflower season in Oregon. Spring means gorgeous blooms of color in the Willamette Valley, starting as early as March for some flowers, and lasting well into summer. Grab your hiking gear and head out on one of the trails to find yellow sand verbenas, red columbine, elegant brodiaea, fireweed, glacier lilies and more. 

The warmer temperatures, pleasant breezes and bright blue skies of spring in the Willamette Valley mean it’s time to hit the trails by bicycle or on foot. In Benton County, you have plenty of fantastic trails for all ability levels. Enjoy everything from short pleasant strolls to day-long treks, through stunning scenery with plenty of wildlife and bird watching. 

Corvallis is fortunate to be in the heart of the Willamette Valley, which means access to fresh fruits, veggies, meat, dairy, baked goods and more, all from local farms. The Corvallis Farmers Market happens on First Street, between Jackson and Monroe Avenues, every Wednesday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., April through November.

Monday, May 29, 2023, is Memorial Day, and Memorial Day weekend marks the opening of the season in wine country. Wineries around the Willamette Valley, including right here in Corvallis, will be throwing open their tasting room doors to celebrate the holiday with sales, deals, special tastings, concerts and more.
