Montana’s newest hot springs is also one of the oldest. Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort has evolved from a bathhouse for miners in the 1880s to a world-class resort. On the banks of the Clark Fork River, surrounded by tall, pine-covered mountains, you’ll find paradise.
Recently, the old pools have been abandoned (not just refurbished). Five new natural flow pools with mineral-rich, healing waters are tucked into the mountainside beneath waterfalls. You’ll melt away all stress as you soak in the 100- to 106-degree clear turquoise water. Two large salt-treated pools in the upper 90s are perfect for swimming. The brave can give their heart a jolt in the very cold (55 degree) plunge pool. To ensure an uncrowded, safe experience for all, a limited number of day visitors can swim with reservations.
A spacious, modern bathhouse alongside the pools has everything including a device that dries your bathing suit. A cool, hi-tech bracelet serves as your locker key, room key and charging device for food and snacks.
Lodging in the original historic Glacier Lodge or Canyon Cabins is rustic, comfortable, kid-friendly and affordable. Newer, deluxe and luxurious rooms and cabins overlook the river. Included are robes, wine and goodies. Surrounded with nature in the River View Cabins, you’ll drift off to sleep listening to the sound of the river rushing by and wake up to stunning mountain views as the sun peeks over the walls of the canyon. The lodge boasts 25 sumptuous rooms.
The Harwood House, one of Montana’s finest restaurants, serves delicious organic gourmet fare. Their signature Prime Rib is iconic, or treat yourself to fresh seasonal seafood. Awarded the 2019 Wine Spectator Magazine Award of Excellence, the wine list is extensive.
Casual dining in The Tavern supplies food, wine and beer all day along with specialty cocktails. Play pool, take your chances on one of the slot machines or watch sports between your soaks.
A building beside the new pools will soon have additional food and drink options so swimmers won’t get chilled going for snacks or a beverage.
