A little rain (or A LOT of rain) never stopped a true beer lover from enjoying a pint in a local taproom or brewery. Thankfully, Kitsap Peninsula is home to more than 20 breweries, cider houses and taprooms—a constellation of local watering holes that are the perfect place to tuck into any time of the year, rain or shine. Here’s a quick look at just a few places on the Peninsula that you’ll want to visit on your next Kitsap adventure
Poulsbo / North Kitsap
A stone’s throw from Liberty Bay on the historic Poulsbo waterfront Slippery Pig Brewery sets the bar high for tasty beers, crave-worthy food and a killer pinball collection. With a fun, relaxed atmosphere and regular live music, Slippery Pig is a great place to spend a few hours while exploring Poulsbo.
Valholl Brewing is where you inner Viking can come and play! Valholl has been brewing award-winning craft beer in Little Norway since 2010 and is well known for their superb IPA’s. Guests love the Viking-inspired atmosphere, the delicious beer and excellent view of the Olympic Mountains.
Kitsap’s first established cidery using eastern Washington apples, Bushel & Barrel Ciderhouse is beloved for both their beverages and their amazing roster of live music and events such as the Ciderhouse Highland Games (June), live music, trivia nights, Kitsapple Fest with its gathering of classic cars (July), Oktoberfest and many more.
Central Kitsap
Silver City Brewery is arguably the anchor of the craft beer scene in Kitsap since it opened in ‘96. With 2 locations (Flagship location and restaurant in Silverdale and Tasting Room in Bremerton) and widely available on tap and in stores, Silver City is, thankfully, everywhere you look. Tropic Haze IPA and Loud Love hard cider are local faves.
Dog Daze Brewing is a veteran-owned micro-brewery and taproom in the heart of downtown Bremerton. A short walk from the Seattle/Bremerton ferry terminal, it’s one of the easiest Kitsap Breweries to visit via Seattle ferry. Sandwiched between the Historic Roxy Theatre and Axe and Arrow Gastropub you won’t have to go far to make a whole evening of it!
South Kitsap
Port Orchard’s Peninsula Beverage Co. is a 9-minute foot-ferry ride from the Bremerton waterfront and is renowned for their massive tap list from a huge variety of PNW craft breweries. Bevco serves up a killer breakfast and is known for their yummy Bahn Mi tacos, flatbreads and quinoa bowls.
Rolling country roads through rural South Kitsap lead you to one of the newest and most popular micro-breweries. Yoked Farmhouse & Brewery is family-owned and family-friendly and is a wonderful place to enjoy local craft beer in a peaceful farm setting with locals and visitors enjoying the farmhouse and grounds. Yoked hosts food trucks, artisan markets and a welcoming gathering place for the community.
