Fall is the perfect time to visit Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston—Oregon’s Adventure Coast. Mild autumn temperatures give you plenty of adventures to choose from, even as a return to the school routine keeps crowds more modest than during summer peak season.
After the summer we had, you’ve earned a getaway to the coast. Sure, you’ll want to remember to pack a sweater and that favorite flannel shirt that’s been hiding in the back of the closet, but on Oregon’s Adventure Coast a little bundled up can be just as magical as it is in shorts and flip-flops.
It’s also a terrific value, thanks to a Fall 15% discount on lodging at participating properties now through November 30, 2021.
Autumn Adventures Await
Those smaller fall crowds make Oregon’s Adventures Coast feel like your own personal playground.
Crabbing in the bay and surrounding estuaries is a great way to spend the day in autumn. Dropping your nets in the water. The physical effort of pulling them up to check your haul. The scramble to measure the crabs in your net to see which ones are keepers. Not only is it a stealth workout, but Dungeness crab tastes that much better when you know you caught it yourself.
Or you could don your fleece and hike the six-mile Oregon Coast loop that connects Sunset Bay, Shore Acres, and Cape Arago State Parks. This cliff-lined trail is one of the jewels of the Oregon Coast, offering soul-stirring views of the Pacific Ocean as it crashes into the rugged Oregon shoreline.
Relax & Recharge
After your day’s adventure, warm up (and fill up) at one of the area’s delightful restaurants. For a lot of us, a full stomach following a day spent outdoors makes that warm bed pretty inviting. But if you’re a bit of a night owl, one of the quirky night spots may call to you. Or you could try your luck at one of the casinos.
When you go, please remember to follow Oregon’s Safe+Strong guidelines to keep the community safe and remember that face coverings are required in public spaces. And don’t forget to take advantage of the 15% discount on lodging, good for accommodations booked at participating hotels in the Coos Bay-North Bend-Charleston area before Nov. 30, 2021.
