Mount Ashland, in Southern Oregon, comes alive once snow covers the ground and skiers and snowboarders flock to the slopes.
The highest point in the Siskiyou Mountain range, Mount Ashland is perfect for skiers confident with intermediate or advanced runs. There are also two terrain parks on the mountain, for those who wish to show off a few tricks.
Beginning at 4:00 p.m., Twilight skiing is offered every Thursday and Friday in January and February, giving visitors the chance to appreciate the way the sunset reflects off the slopes― as well as the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of skiing when the stars are out.
After spending a day on the slopes, skiers and snowboarders can take it easy on the journey home. The Ski Hopper is a free bus that transports visitors to and from the mountain, stopping at four different locations around the city of Ashland.
In Ashland, hotels, restaurants, bars and breweries offer an après-ski scene that rivals any at major ski resorts.
