The City of Bellingham is hosting the Vital Choice Bellingham Traverse, on Saturday, September 20th. Held in honor of the herculean wild salmon life cycle, the Grand Finale of the Northwest Traverse multi-sport events offers six different activities ranging from team runs to bike races and a kayaking race.
Solo, tandem, and relay teams will participate in the runs and events. Established by Todd Elsworth, a pentathlon runner, and now run by Recreation Northwest, proceeds go toward helping the environmental community.
The Vital Choice Bellingham Traverse will be held at the Boundary Bay Brewery, well known for their exemplary IPAs. While the sporting events start at noon, Bellingham Beer Week, Bellingham Farmer’s Market, and the Five Point Film Festival will host various nearby and ongoing events, so be sure to drop by those areas between and before the sporting events.
If you plan on participating, whether as a group or by yourself, registration is open online until September 19th at 7 p.m. at recreationnorthwest.org/bellingham-traverse or learn more about Bellingham at bellinghamtourism.com.
