Take a bite out of Ashland with the Taste of Ashland event. Over two days, visitors to the scenic town are invited to gobble, scarf and nosh on the finest food in town while viewing the works of local artists in various galleries, both downtown and in the city’s historic Railroad District.

At each gallery, coordinators have painstakingly paired wineries and restaurants to compliment guests’ experiences and interactions with the art. A unique and distinctly Ashland event, Taste of Ashland is hosted over the weekend to ensure attendees have time to immerse themselves in Southern Oregon bounty. The 2015 Taste of Ashland will be held April 25 – 26, after noon for peak delectation.

The Taste event organizers like to mix it up with art, food and wine pairings that may differ each day, allowing visitors to have a different experience on each visit. Guests even have the opportunity to win tickets to the next Taste.

In between your perusal of gallery, food and wine pairings, walk around Ashland and explore the multifaceted downtown area and Ashland Plaza during spring. Ashland embraces a small town feel with a wide variety of cultural experiences—from the superb Oregon Shakespeare Festival to the Schneider Museum of Art at Southern Oregon University. For transport during Taste, take a complimentary trolley or stroll around the highly walkable area to better savor the cultural offerings available.

A cultural center in Oregon, Ashland features more than 20 art galleries along with multiple theaters. The Taste of Ashland also makes the event an opportunity to feature up-and-coming artists. The Ashland Gallery Association’s goal with the Taste of Ashland is to showcase the city as an art destination. In addition to Taste, the association coordinates professional and student art exhibits, First Friday gallery walks, as well as providing educational opportunities—all in support of the belief that art is essential to the welfare and character of the community.

Join other gourmands and wine aficionados on April 25 – 26 on the walking tour and Taste of Ashland, and maybe catch one of the performances at Oregon Shakespeare Festival to top off your experience.
