It’s been a long and windy winter, and the best way to celebrate spring is to experience a Fidalgo Island getaway with Washington wines, tulip fields and market fresh goodies. What does this weekend adventure look like?

Start your morning off with a stroll through the Winter Anacortes Farmers Market at the Depot Arts and Community Center. Enjoy a hot breakfast from one of the food vendors or a scrumptious pastry. Stock up on goodies like farm fresh cheeses, grass-fed meats, and seasonal produce. Then, wander through historic downtown and explore clothing boutiques, kitchen stores, and one-of-a-kind artisanal gift shops. Afterward, walk down to the Historic Port of Anacortes for the 8th Annual Anacortes Wine Spring Festival. Make sure you’ve bought your ticket ahead of time to ensure entrance to the festival, as they’re selling quickly!

The venue is next to Guemes Channel with incredible island and water views. Taste savory bites from eight local restaurants like Dad’s Diner and 5th Street Bistro, as well as Taylor Shellfish’s raw oyster bar. Gourmet desserts include chocolates, fudges, truffles and hand-crafted cheeses. And most importantly, sample Washington State wines from wineries like Adrice Wines, Daven Lore Winery, Damsel Cellars, and Washington’s only sparkling wine house Treveri Cellars, as well as ciders from Finn River Farm & Cidery.

Anacortes Annual Spring Wine Festival is on Saturday April 8, 2017.
